How Afrimoja works
Afrimoja finds you paid farm loads for the trip you are already driving, especially the drive home. You set your own price, the money is locked before you load, and you are paid when the receiver signs.
What the colours mean
- GREEN Your money is safe, or you have been paid.
- AMBER Waiting: something needs checking, or payment is on hold.
- RED Temperature rule or a problem. Read it carefully.
Step by step
-
1
Sign in
Enter your M-Pesa phone number. This is also where you get paid.
-
2
Set your route and find a load
Type where you are going, e.g. From Nairobi To Eldoret. You only see loads your truck can carry.
Use the buttons (Fruit, Vegetables, Dairy…) to narrow the list.
-
3
Read the load
Check the pickup and drop times, the distance and any special handling.
A red tag such as REEFER 4°C REQUIRED means your truck must hold that temperature for the whole trip.
Step 4: Place a hidden bid
- Enter the price you want for the trip, in KES.
- Your bid is sealed: other drivers cannot see it and you cannot see theirs.
- You can lower your bid before bidding closes, but never raise it. Bid what you really need.
- For cold loads, tick the box to confirm your truck can hold the temperature. Then press Submit hidden bid.
- When bidding closes, the shipper usually picks the lowest bid. We send you a message if you win.
Tip for return trips
If you would drive home empty anyway, any fair price is extra money. Cover your fuel and costs, then bid to win.
-
5
You won: payment locked
A green screen shows your price is held safely in escrow before you load.
-
6
Load and start the trip
Take a photo of the loaded cargo. For cold loads, pre-cool the truck and enter the temperature first.
These records protect you if the receiver later complains.
-
7
Deliver and hand over
At the drop point press Log arrival (allow location), take 3 photos and, for cold loads, enter the temperature.
Hand your phone to the receiver. They check the summary, write their name and sign with a finger.
-
8
Get paid
When the receiver signs, the payment is released to your M-Pesa and you get a confirmation.
If the receiver reports a problem, payment stays locked while Afrimoja checks both sides.
Questions
Why can't I raise my bid?
So that nobody can bid low to win and then push the price up. Think about your price before you bid.
Why can't I see some loads?
You only see loads your truck can carry: the right truck type and temperature range, and still open for bids.
When do I get paid?
As soon as the receiver signs the delivery on your phone.
What if the receiver says the goods are damaged?
Payment stays locked. Afrimoja looks at your loading photo, delivery photos and temperatures, and the receiver's report, then decides.
Why can't I bid yet?
New accounts are checked first: logbook, insurance and truck. You can look at loads while you wait.
Does it use a lot of data?
No. Pages are small and photos are shrunk on your phone before they upload.
What is Afrimoja Energy?
Gas and fuel loads (LPG cylinders, bulk gas, diesel). Only trucks with a valid EPRA licence and drivers with a dangerous-goods certificate can see them, and there are safety checklists at loading and delivery.
Why does Afrimoja see my location?
Only in two cases: during a job you have won, while the trip screen is open, so the team and the customer can see where the load is; and while you have switched on I'm available, so we can show you the nearest loads. Switch it off and your position is deleted.
